Born in New Jersey and raised in California, Silena Murrell showed artistic talent from an early age, soloing frequently at her church and performing in musicals before she left her home to attend college. As well as completing her undergraduate degree, Murrell seriously pursued music, which paid off after graduation. Her first single, “I Like My Man Hard,” produced by Scott Storch, hit the airwaves in 2006 and was included on the promotional soundtrack for writer Lolita Files’ Sex.Lies.Murder.Fame, and soon after, “Bring It Home” was released.

Silena Murrell is a singer-songwriter, actress and recording artist formerly with Universal Music Group. She costarred in The Soul Kittens Cabaret play/movie as Mimi with Fantasia Barrino, Nicci Gilbert and Faith Evans. She is the female vocalist on the Dream’s debut single, “Shawty Is a 10”. Silena wrote her single “Bring It Home” (Body Rock) and various songs with Scott Storch, Tricky Stewart, Greg Curtis, and other notable producers. Her single, Bring It Home (Body Rock) was later covered by Beyoncé Knowles on YouTube.

Ms. Murrell also wrote “Never Say Goodbye” for the Braxton’s, “Willing and Waiting” for Joya / Atlas Records, and “Give It Up” for Elusion / RCA Records.

In the start of Murrell’s career, she was the backing vocalist for Aaliyah on the Anastasia movie soundtrack -“Journey to the Past”, and Tamia’s “Imagination” remix (produced by Rory Bennett). Prior to going solo, she was an original founding Brownstone member, Sway member with Keke Wyatt, and Angel member with former Destiny’s Child members Latoya Luckett and Latavia Roberson.

Other Murrell promotional and unofficial releases include “I Like My Man Hard”, which is the soundtrack to the Harper Collins novel, “Sex.Lies.Murder.Fame”, “Shorty How U Like That” and “Grimie”. Ms. Murrell is a genuine artist on rise.
